DocuSign integration with Power Pages

Update: April 21, 2025 – some users reported an issue on the community forums with an error opening the document. Manju Gurjar found a solution to the problem with a permission issue related to the cloud flow associated with the configuration.
From Manju:
Here’s what resolved it in my case: This issue is related to permissions/web role for Cloud flow.
Step 1:
When you first connect your cloud flow to the Power Pages site, you probably added the Authenticated User role (as the documentation says).
For now, remove that role and instead add the Anonymous User role.
Step 2:
Save and sync your changes.
Step 3:
Go back to your multi-step form on portal. You should now be able to see the DocuSign template, and the error message should be gone.
Step 4:
Once everything is working, go back and remove the Anonymous User role and add back the Authenticated User role.

If you have ever needed to sign a contract, agreement, or any other legal binding document, you may have received the document via email from a service called DocuSign, where you can provide an “e-signature” instead of having the physically go somewhere to provide a “wet signature” on a document.

In the TV series “The Big Bang Theory”, the character Sheldon Cooper was notorious for creating legal agreements for things like roommates or even romantic relationships.

With Microsoft Power Pages, I have worked on projects where we used the multistep form for various application processes that required a “sign off” step. In some cases, this meant that even with all the various details collected in the multistep form, the final step still was still manual and involved either emailing, (gasp) faxing, or finishing the process using an e-signature platform like DocuSign.

There is now a better way with the new built-in integration with DocuSign, now in private preview! You can now integrate DocuSign e-signature using a no-code method in your multistep form processes.

Streamline digital agreement workflows with Microsoft Power Pages and DocuSign

And I also have a video where I walk through the entire process of installing and configuring the DocuSign integration to allow potential roommates to apply and sign the ever important roommate agreement. Bazinga!

Summary

While signing legal documents isn’t the most exciting thing in the world, I feel this is a feature that will definitely have a big impact with a number of Power Pages projects.
